Week 6, Lesson 1
For Lesson 1, we’re doing a Peer Feedback Discussion. In the first part of the class, I’ll walk you through the procedure and then you’re going to break off into small groups and discuss the paragraphs you submitted/shared last week.
After our Lesson 1 meeting, use the feedback you received to edit and improve your paragraph. You should have an updated version of your paragraph ready to share during our small-group meeting in Lesson 2 of Week 6. (Bring enough copies for everyone in your small group plus the professor.)

For Lesson 2, we’re going to review your updated paragraphs one more time. Bring enough copies for one copy for everyone in your group, plus one for the professor, and I’ll tell you how I would grade your paragraph if it were on the exam, as well as how to get a better result on it.

Optional Paragraph Practice for Week 6
Use the feedback you got from others during the Peer Feedback Discussion and small group meeting this week to edit your paragraph. Your edited, improved paragraph will be your Paragraph Practice for this week. Focus on others’ feedback and advice and just work on making the paragraph as good as you can.
After editing your paragraph, and getting feedback on it in Lesson 2 of this week’s class, proofread it and save it.
Wait, what is “Proofreading”?
As we discussed in our second meeting of the week, Proofreading is the last step of writing before you submit your work. You should not be making big changes anymore (that’s editing). Proofreading is something you do when you think you’re basically done, and it involves looking for any small mistakes you might have missed earlier, such as missing punctuation, a typo, a misspelled word, a missing article, or that kind of small thing.
In other words, to “proofread” means to check over something carefully for any last, small, overlooked mistakes.
