Please register or sign in to access the course content.

For this week, we’re taking a break from the textbook. There is no textbook homework this week.

In class for Lesson 1, we’re going to play a modified version of the game Night Forest from the design company Heart of the Deernicorn.

I’ll also discuss the structure of Narrative Paragraphs with you. I do not have any non-textbook video content for this week’s lesson, but maybe I’ll get to make a video sometime soon and add it. If you missed class, talk to a classmate for more information about Narrative Paragraphs.

Paragraph Blog

For your Paragraph Blog for Week 12, you should relate a personal story from your life that you think would be interesting to a reader. It should use the format I discussed in class for Narrative Paragraphs, including the “framing device” for the topic and concluding sentence, and the structural approach I mentioned, of:

  • original state
  • event
  • resulting change

You should use one of the stories you told in class while playing Night Forest as inspiration for the narrative paragraph.

If you missed class, you will need someone to explain the structure of Narrative Paragraphs to you. For the subject of the paragraph, choose a personal story from your life (a true story) in which something happened that changed you in some way.
