Week 7 is our last week before the Midterm Exam period. Here is my plan for Week 7:
Lesson 1: I will explain the Midterm Assessment Task to you along with any plans we have for the week, and we’ll tie up any loose ends.
Lesson 2: We will have your Participation Self-Assessment meetings.

Week 7, Lesson 1:
- I will answer any questions you have about the Midterm Assessment Task in detail. (A copy of the document is available in the Week 6 content.)
- I’ll also review how the Midterm Task relates to your Student-Led Discussion Task, which you’ll be doing after the Midterm Exam period.
- I’ll explain what’s going on in Week 8 in regard to class meetings (because we’re not meeting in Week 8).
- I’ll have you “sign up” for meeting times for our Day 2 class, and explain what you need to prepare for that class. I will post the meetings schedule after class, so you can check it.
Week 7, Lesson 2:
- We’ll meet for Participation Self-Assessments.
- You must bring a printed, filled-out copy of the Participation Self-Assessment Form shared below. Make sure you fill it out before your meeting, because there won’t be time during the meeting for you to fill it out. Students who miss their meeting without an extremely good reason, or who do not fill out their Self-Assessment form, will lose Participation marks.
Here’s the Participation Self-Assessment Form you should fill out and bring to the meeting. I recommend printing and filling it the day before our meeting, because printers always seem to be broken every day I have a meeting, and this causes students to come late or lose marks for not bringing the paper to the meeting.
Note: questions 7 & 8 are about what you can do, not a space for suggestions about the class. (Question 10 is for suggestions you want to give me, but focus on yourself for questions 7 & 8).
Week 7 Course Journal
For Week 7, just pick a prompt from the prompt list I shared with you (in a class announcement earlier this semester), and write a Course Journal Entry about that. In case you can’t find it, here’s a copy of the prompts list:
