Hi everyone, and welcome back to regular class.
For the rest of semester, we’ll be doing some exercises that will help you with your speaking and listening skills, while still giving you an opportunity to continue working on your writing.
Week 10 Lesson
For Week 10, we’re going to do peer interviews. You have free time to talk about anything… but you’re looking for something interesting to write about. You should conduct the interview in English, and you should take notes recording the information you get from your partner.
In case you have trouble thinking of appropriate questions to ask your partner, I’ve included a link to a handout document below. It includes all kinds of questions you can ask, as well as some advice about how to get really “interesting” responses from your partner.

Week 10 Practice Paragraph
For your Week 10 Practice Paragraph, pick one of the interesting things your partner said and explore it in your paragraph. Try to explain your partner’s comments, using as much information as you can from the interview to clarify that one idea.
Then, write a second paragraph in which you respond to your partner’s idea. You can explain why you agree or why you disagree with their idea, how you feel about what your partner said, whether you have a similar experience, or whatever kind of response you think makes sense.
In the end, you should have two paragraphs: one exploring something that your partner said, and one exploring your response to what your partner said. When you’re happy with your paragraphs, save them.
