In today’s class, we’re going to talk about opinions and how to express differences of opinion while speaking with others, as well as in writing.
You will have conversations with partners, and search for some points of disagreement to explore.
I will also go over the handout with you, which contains a couple of paragraphs chock full of common template sentences for expressing opinion and supporting an opinion.

Practice Paragraph
For your Practice Paragraph this week, you will once again write two paragraphs.
- In the first paragraph, you should explain your classmate’s opinion and present the reasons why your classmate has that opinion.
- In the second paragraph, you should explain your (different, disagreeing) opinion, and support your opinion with reasons.
Use some of the template sentences I showed you in class. When you’re happy with what you’ve written, save it.
