Today, we’re going to test your communicative skill. After a brief example in which I explain a specialist idea to the class, you will be assigned a partner from a different major to talk with in class. That partner is going to teach you something you don’t know about, and you will teach your partner something that they don’t know about. While your partner teaches you, you will need to take notes and ask questions to make sure you understand the idea, concept, or process.

You will repeat this process with another partner, using what your first partner asked you to help you explain more clearly and effectively to your second partner.

Practice Paragraph

Choose one of the things you were taught by someone else today. Write a paragraph about it in the Paragraph Blog. Try to include as much as possible of the information you were given by that partner. Try to make sure the paragraph is simple and clear enough to explain the concept to someone else, even if you’re not present to answer their questions.

When you’re happy with what you’ve written, save it.
