For today’s class, you need to bring an object to class that has a story connected to it. For example, you might choose to bring a gift from an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend, or a souvenir from a trip, or an object connected to your childhood.
You will tell that story to a number of people, and along the way you will answer any questions people ask you about the object or about your story. Remember to try and make the story complete and to make it enjoyable. One important thing to include is details about the story.
After you tell the story a few times, take some notes about the questions people asked you.
Practice Paragraph
For your Practice Paragraph for this week, write a paragraph about the story you told in class. Try to include information that answers all of the questions people asked you, and really wrestle with the following question:
HOW CAN I MAKE THIS STORY INTERESTING AND MEANINGFUL FOR THE READER?
When you feel you’ve succeeded as best you can, save your paragraph.
